Myron Selznick
Selznick and Hitchcock in 1924
Biography
Myron Selznick (1898-1944) was an American producer, production executive and talent agent, and older brother of David O. Selznick.
In 1924, he met Alfred Hitchcock during the production of The Passionate Adventure at Islington Studios in London. Selznick also fell in love with one of the film's stars, Marjorie Daw, and they married in 1925.
Selznick joined forces with Frank Coleman Joyce (brother of actress Alice Joyce) and set up Joyce-Selznick Ltd. in 1928, the first Los Angeles talent agency. The agency represented Alfred Hitchcock from 1939 until 1944, negotiating the director's contract with Selznick International Pictures.
