Coniston, Cumbria
Coniston is a village and civil parish in the Furness region of Cumbria, England. It is located in the southern part of the Lake District National Park, between Coniston Water and Coniston Old Man.

The Paradine Case (1947)
About 38 minutes into the film, Anthony Keane (Gregory Peck) travels north to Cumbria to visit Hindley Hall.
Following an establishing shot of Rydal Water, we see a long shot of the Cumbrian countryside showing a steam train pulling into a station. The station seen in this distant shot is Coniston Railway Station, which was eventually closed in the early 1960s. Hitchcock then cuts to a scene of Keane getting off the train, which was actually filmed at Braithwaite Station over 17 miles away.[1]
The same long shot of the station was then reversed to show the train going in the opposite direction for Keane's return to London.
According to author Gary Giblin, Hitchcock had scouted for filming locations in Cumbria during May 1946 with unit manager Fred Ahern.
