CARL BRISSON TO PLAY IN A BRITISH PRODUCTION.

Negotiations have been concluded by the British National Film Co. to film the more famous of Hall Caine's novels. The first, which will be started this summer, is to be "The Manxman." Carl Brisson, the musical comedy "star," will play as Peter, and it is probable that Estelle Brody may play opposite to him. Mr. Alfred Hitchcock will produce.

The Company have paid £5,000 for the rights. Three months will be occupied in the production, and the film will be of 12,000 feet. Exteriors will be "shot" in the Isle of Man, as near as possible to the actual scenes of the novel.

Mr. Brisson is regarded as the ideal actor to portray Hall Caine's heroes. This engagement may mean that he will be fully occupied by the film, to the temporary exclusion of musical comedy work.
