Alfred Hitchcock
A further development in British studios is an alliance readied between Wardour Films and British National Pictures, whereby Wardours will act as distributors of British National pictures in British markets. This move will also, I gather, provide British National with the extra capital they need for completing their Elstree studios. A second studio ought to be ready in March, and Alfred Hitchcock, most promising of young English directors, is then due to start there on a programme of Empire subjects, including one with a war background.
At the moment Alfred Hitchcock is preparing to make for Piccadilly Pictures a new Ivor Novello picture adapted from the play "Downhill," in which Mr. Novello had some success in London.
