P.O.W. Film Exchange
British prisoners of war in Germany will soon be able to see such films as Mr. Alfred Hitchcock's "Shadow of a Doubt" and the Paul Muni "Louis Pasteur " picture. These films are among some 39 that the World Alliance of the Y.M.C.A. is shortly to send to Geneva for distribution among camps in Germany. Other films in this batch are "Dear Octopus," "Shadow of the Thin Man," and the Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers hit, "Top Hat."
An earlier consignment of 83 films has already arrived in Geneva. In all 100 pictures are to be sent. An exchange scheme has been arranged by the Swedish Red Cross. A hundred German films are being sent from Germany to Nazi camps in Britain. All the films chosen are non-political. Owing to various difficulties most of those coming are not very recent productions.
Projectors for showing the British films in Germany have been bought in Switzerland, some with money collected by the prisoners themselves.
