William Devane
Biography
William Joseph Devane is an American film, television and theater actor, perhaps best known for his role as Greg Sumner on the primetime soap opera "Knots Landing".
Devane was Alfred Hitchcock's initial choice for the role of jeweler Arthur Adamson in "Frenzy", but was unavailable, and the director cast Roy Thinnes instead. Shortly after shooting started in mid 1975, Devane became available and Hitchcock fired Thinnes and reshot most of the scenes with Devane.
