The Trouble with Harry (1955) - Premiere (30/Sep/1955)
The premiere of The Trouble with Harry was held in Barre, Vermont on Friday 30th September, 1955 and began with a state dinner for 800 people hosted by the Governer of Vermont, Joseph B. Johnson.
State Dinner
Cliff Miskelley, the head of the Vermont Development Commission who had originally suggested East Craftsbury as an ideal location to producer Herbert Coleman, was the Master of Ceremonies and Hitchcock was made an "Honorary Citizen and Mayor of Barre". The Hitchcocks were also presented with a map of Vermont map fashioned of local granite.[1]
Sitting alongside Hitchcock on the head table were:[2]

- Shirley MacLaine
- Jules Stein (the CEO of MCA) and his wife
- Herman Citron (MCA agent who take care of Hitchcock's affairs at Paramount) and his wife
During the dinner, telegrams were read out from those unable to attend, including John Forsythe, Bob Hope, Doris Day, Deborah Kerr and James Stewart.[3]
