THE FILM WORLD
The British firm, Gainsborough Pictures Limited, which has been responsible for such productions as Woman to Woman and The Rat, has prepared an ambitious programme of production for this year. Three films are now finished and will be seen in the cinemas within a few months. These are The Sea Urchin, adapted from Mr. Hastings Turner's play, with Miss Betty Balfour in the leading part, The Pleasure Garden, with Miss Virginia Valli in the company; and The Mountain Eagle, with Mr Malcolm Keen and Miss Nita Naldi. At least six more films will be made during the year, among them being The Lodger, based on Mrs. Belloc Lowndes's book, and Huntingtower, based on the book by Mr. John Buchan.
