"The Night the World Ended" was originally broadcast on 28/Apr/1957 as part of the second season of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Synopsis
Halloran plays a practical joke on a down-and-out man named Johnny. He shows him a fake newspaper with the headline "World to End Tonight --- 11:45 P.M." Johnny believes the headline and decides to live it up. He breaks into a store and shoots a security guard. A few minutes before 11:45, he sees the real headline and realizes that he has been tricked. An enraged Johnny returns to the bar where Halloran is and shoots him dead. (TV.com)
