Introduction
"A Matter of Murder" was originally broadcast on 03/Apr/1964 as part of the second season of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.
Synopsis
Sheridan Westcott kills his wife, hides it in his Rolls Royce, and heads to a nearby lake to dispose of it. While he is checking the water level in the lake, his car is stolen by a car thief named Philadelphia Harry. Harry realizes he has been framed for murder when he hears a newscast that says that Westcott's wife was alive when the car was stolen. He sneaks the car back to Westcott's garage and calls the police. Westcott manages to avoid arrest when he finds the car before the cop show up. He paints it blue and abandons it before the authorities arrive. Later, Harry's gang steals the abandoned blue Rolls Royce completely unaware that there is a body in the trunk. When Harry sees the car he decides to get rid of it once and for all. He dumps the car and the body into the lake. Meanwhile, Westcott is questioned by the police. He threatens to sue for harassment, but the police decide to drag the lake to see what might turn up. (TV.com)
