Amateur taxidermist Norman Bates still runs the Bates Hotel, under the steady stare of his mother.

Anthony Perkins first played Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in 1960, then in Psycho II in 1983. Now, just when you thought it was safe to take a shower, there's Psycho III.

The main drawback to the film is that director and lead actor Perkins has the film waver between tongue-in-cheek comedy and shock. Bates is the proprietor of the hotel, and hotel guests sometimes check out before they planned.
