Abstract
In an imaginary conversation between two men on a train, Alfred Hitchcock used the word MacGuffin to explain that a package in the baggage rack was an apparatus for catching lions in the Scottish Highlands. Hitchcock explained that the MacGuffin was nothing. Curiosity is the disturbance of boredom and the MacGuffin is its epiphany.
