Saboteur (1942) - Hitchcock's cameo
Hitchcock's cameo in Saboteur (1942) occurs about 65 minutes into the film, where he appears outside a drug store talking to a woman. According to contemporary newspaper reports, the woman was Hitchcock's secretary, Carol Stevens.[1]
Some sources state that Hitchcock had wanted to do a longer cameo in which he used sign language to speak to the woman (who is deaf) only for him to get slapped in the face for signing something offensive. However, the studio was concerned this might cause genuine offence and overruled it.
