Regional Variant Releases
Sometimes when a major studio releases a new Hitchcock DVD, the same DVD may be released in several countries usually with the same content. The local translation of the film title is often used.
For example, when Universal originally released Family Plot in Europe, the UK release was exactly the same as the one released in Germany. Both releases contained the same audio and subtitle languages. The only difference is that the German DVD has different packaging.
A slightly different version of the DVD was released in France, Spain, and Italy -- this release contained different audio and subtitle lanuages to the UK/German release.
Rather than duplicate content on this site, regional variations will often contain briefer information along with a link to a reference DVD release (typically the region 2 UK release). Any known differences (such as subtitle languages) will be listed.
