Frederick Stafford
Biography
Frederick Stafford (born Friedrich Strobel von Stein) was an Czech-born actor who was fluent in several European languages.
Stafford was leading man in European spy-movies. Alfred Hitchcock engaged him in 1968 to play the leading role in Topaz. He married Austrian actress Marianne Hold. Five years after Topaz he starred beside his daughter from Hitchcock's movie, French actress Claude Jade, in the Italian thriller La ragazza di Via Condotti (1973).
He died in 1979 in a plane crash, aged 51.
