Abstract

The author's uncle-in-law was the actor Cyril Ritchard, who appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's 1929 film 'Blackmail'. After discussing the role Cyril had in this film, the author then outlines how Cyril became an actor and retells family stories about his conception and his mother's two miscarriages.
