Mr. Jules Stein, the trim grey head of MCA, doesn't ski either. He's here for a few days before moving to London for the premiere of Charles Chaplin's "A Countess from Hong Kong".

"We came to look up old friends," he told me. Old friends have done him well. Both Senor Antenor Patino (tin) and Count Theo Rossi (vermouth) have given parties for him.

Stein at least walks every day. Mr. Alfred Hitchcock doesn't. This is Hitch's 40th year here. His first was also his honeymoon. "We are very nostalgic about the place," says Mrs. Hitch.

Hitch set "The Man Who Knew Too Much" in St. Moritz, but has never set foot to skate or ski. "I am a devotee of winter sports from a distance. Just as I am a gourmet, although I've never eaten an egg in my life. I can't stand them."

A mysterious statement, but he is in the business.
