Cinema Writers Circle Awards, Spain
Introduction
Founded in 1945, the CEC (Premios del Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos) is one of the oldest cinematographic institutions in Spain, formed by over a hundred film critics and screenwriters. Its activities are aimed at promoting cinema, especially Spanish cinema, and include the presentation of prestigious annual awards to Spanish films, the organization of homages, film seasons and conferences, collaboration with other institutions and the promotion of the publication of specialized books.
