Hitchcock Delay Causes a Scare

SINGAPORE

Engine trouble which delayed his plane in Bangkok caused a scare here concerning the whereabouts of film maker Alfred Hitchcock.

Hitchcock, master of the suspense thriller, was due here Saturday but failed to arrive. The mystery was cleared up today when Paul Yue, manager for Paramount Films Malaya, Inc, said he had received a telegram from Hitchcock saying his plane had been held up in Thailand.

Yue said Hitchcock cabled he would cancel his Singapore stop here and fly direct to Hong Kong.
