In Addition

I would like to thank David Atkinson for the great article on Rear Window. And, if I may, I'd like to add a note of interest:

I first saw Rear Window during its 1983 release (I wasn't around for the first release). About a week before, I had seen an old episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents which was based on a Ray Bradbury story. Its plot concerned the statistic that murders drastically increase when the temperature hits 92 degrees.

In Atkinson's description of Rear Window's opening camera move he failed to mention a small item of importance that the camera caught an outdoor thermometer reading just over 92 degrees.

Maybe this is coincidental and insignificant. At any rate, it is definitely a mark of Mr. Hitchcock's stunning eye for detail.
