Introduction
"The Manacled" was originally broadcast on 27/Jan/1957 as part of the second season of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Synopsis
Ben Rockwell is transporting prisoner Steve Fontaine by train. Fontaine is manacled by the so-called Oregon boot, and Rockwell has the only key. During the trip, Fontaine persuades Rockwell to let him go, but Rockwell changes his mind. He and Fontaine struggle and Rockwell is shot and killed. Fontaine finds the key to the boot, but it has been destroyed by the bullet and cannot free him. (TV.com)
