Hitchcock's Side Trip Creates Suspense

SINGAPORE (INS) — Movie Producer Alfred Hitchcock apparently made an unscheduled visit to Bangkok, Thailand, that set off a report he was missing in Southeast Asia.

Hollywood's master of suspense was due in Singapore for a cocktail party and dinner but failed to show up. Several hours later Loke Wan Tho, who had arranged the reception for him, said a Dutch KLM Air Lines hostess told him Hitchcock and Mrs. Hitchcock had left their flight at Bangkok.
